Panel - VR is Complicated: The Potential for VR in Education from Student and Teacher Perspectives (45 min)
We have been studying VR in schools for the past four years working with teachers, technology coaches and students from elementary through high school across North America with over 3000 students. Our goal has been to move beyond the “wow” factor of VR and into the relative value of the technology, understanding its authentic integration into curriculum. Specifically, we will be sharing findings regarding emerging technology in schools, empathy, value, ethics and perspective taking as a result of VR. Come join us as we share student and teacher voices and discuss possibilities for future research directions.
